Christmas in Maryland!

This year we spent Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years in Frederick Maryland. We had a wonderful time! The kids loved being with their extended families for all of the festivities. Not to mention, we made it to the Nutcracker and a beautiful Christmas Musical at Trinity Church in Baltimore, Maryland. Sarah and Anna took private swim lessons at Ft. Detrick pool and are now bonafide fishes! By the end of their session, both girls were swimming in the deep end, surface diving, jumping off the side or diving board and knew most strokes. They loved it!!
We particularly enjoyed the mountain life at the Scire Estate or Gambrill Hide-away! Grandma and Grandpa took great care of us and made sure the girls learned a few things on their horses as well as how to take care of them. We enjoyed sledding, snow-girl building and power outages!!

Ok, so Beka is our poser! Not to mention she LOVES food most particular are green veggies! Her fav is garlic sauteed green beans. Its our family favorite!! (Summer '07)

Rebekah Turns 1

Here she is! Our youngest is 1! We had a very relaxed barbeque with friends to celebrate her first year. Of course, she was completely exhausted for cake so we gave her cake the next morning after breakfast. She enjoyed every little last bit!! Here are a few pics of our Beka Jane!

Vacation 2007

This year we ventured to the East Coast in our new RV. Oh what fun! Our first stop was in New Mexico where we tried to find the Rest stop but could not so we spent the night in an abandoned warehouse parking lot. The next morning was beautiful and we played while Daddy checked the tires. The next night we stayed in OK at an RV park with an indoor pool. The kids played and swam till they were completely tuckered out. Of course, it was raining cats and dogs!! We managed to get through OK past the flooding thank goodness! We ended up in KY/TN area the next day, had a blow out and decided we needed to get all of the RV Tires replaced to avoid a catastrophe. They were ALL dry-rotted!! We did take a look at several properties there - what beautiful country!! So after 2 days in KY we finally made it to MD. And oh how much fun we had there. Attached are just a few pics of the fun times!! Some fun times included horseback riding with Grandpa and Aunt Cyndi, playing down at Nanny's and Aunt Nee's, and visiting all of our family in MD. Our trip back west was relatively uneventful. We spent another 2 days in the KY/TN area looking at land to possibly settle down on. We had a grand time on our trip in the RV as well as in Maryland with our families!

Copper Canyon - Baja Motorcycle Trip

Cliff and Andrew set out for a 2 week adventure - From Tuba City Arizona to Douglas AZ and then down Mexico and back up the Baja. Along the way they toured Creel, Copper Canyon and many other towns! One noteable stop was at an Orphanage just outside of Creel. The guys made these kids day! The kids loved the motorcycles and of course, Cliff gave them rides! Truly a delight for all!

Sweet Emma Rose!

Sweet Emma Rose has had an interesting spring!
We first took her in for her hearing - she was talking REALLY loud and just not hearing us! We were not sure if the hearing part was an obedience issue (or dissobedience) or if she really just couldnt hear us. After a short wait, we finally got in and what do you know, bilateral hearing loss due to fluids in her ears. She really just couldn't hear us! So after another consult with an ENT Doctor here in Tuba City we decided to let him put tubes in her ears - Emma affectionately calls them "her little green tubes"! She handled the surgery very well and recovered quickly! At her two month post op appointment, they checked her hearing again and NOW she is above average for hearing! Praise the Lord! We actually knew almost right away that she was hearing better. Her voice is lower and she responds so quickly and can pronounce words much better!

Of course, in the middle of all of this - Emma got the chicken pox! We have no idea where from or who but she got it and now she is immunized for life!! She handled this well too considering! She took lots of oatmeal baths and rested. She didnt scratch too much either - thank goodness because she was covered in them! She called them "her little chicken boo-boos"!

Sweet Emma Rose turns 4 this month and we are still wondering where the time went! All we know is that the Lord truly blessed us with a sweet and loveable little girl to add to our collection! We pray for a healthy year for Emma Rose!

Sea World in San Diego CA

The girls enjoyed lots of "Daddy time" in San Diego over mothers day weekend. Thats right - I stayed behind with Rebekah and enjoyed 4 days of peace and quiet!! Ahhh the sound of NOTHING!!

The girls had a hoot with big Daddy and these are just a few of many taken at Seaworld. They loved it and Emma especially enjoyed meeting her new friend "Shamu" !! Now when she watches "Happy Feet" she squeals for Shamu!

Rebekah Jane - our little sweetheart is Growing!!

We dont know what it is but this child delights us in so many ways - we just want to have more!! Rebekah is such a little sweety - so easy to please and just goes with the flow around here. Which most days is mayhem! I just have to smile because really what else can you expect with 4 Reckley girls!? (Its all Cliff's fault - hehehe)

So our little Beka is now 6 months with one tooth and another on the way in. She is eating solids now (ughh the diapers) and drinks from a sippee cup - YAHOOO I'm free, I'm free!! Hehehe - celebration going on here for mommy!! She adores her big sisters whom have their own special time with Beka when Mom needs it. She is sitting up now and loves to put everything and anything in her mouth. (Thank goodness for Clorox wipes!) She is also resting really well these days - from 8 or 8:30 pm till 5-6 am then back to sleep till 8am when I am ready to get my old lazy self out of bed. :)

She weighs over 18 1/2 lbs. and is almost 27" long. She is wearing size 12 clothes because - well she is chunky and the 9 months clothes are just too tight! So she is following the Reckley trend for 90-95th percentile on the growth charts - yahh for breast milk and good fat genes!

Spring in Arizona

Well, we have not quite decided which is worse - blowing sand or blowing snow?? The spring here has been a bit - well WINDY!!! So much in fact that if you dare go outside you will surely be eating sand! Not to mention - you also had better wear some eye protection! Although, the girls love the fact that you can ride your bike year round! We have found ourselves walking just about every day to the post office and around the high school. I usually push Monkey (Emma) and Chunky Monkey (Rebekah) while big girls Sarah and Anna lead the way on their bikes. Its quite fun - even for Buster!

So here are a few pics of the kiddos over the last few months (sorry I am a bit behind as usual)! What can I say, I am a woman of many duties - too many to list!

Colorado River Junction

Cliff took the 3 big girls for a Jeep ride to the Junction of the Little Colorado and Colorado Rivers. The kids just loved it! It was a cold and windy day but all had fun with Daddy and the Jeep!

What a handful of cuties! What a beautiful place God has provided for us to explore!

Merry Christmas!

Rebekah is 6 weeks old and 13 lbs. She is an excellent sleeper and a joyful child! We love her so!

Sarah, Anna, Emma and Rebekah are enjoying the festivities here in AZ this Christmas. They especially love their new baby sister - our gracious gift from God!

Our New Addition!

Rebekah Jane Reckley arrived a few days late and just missed her Daddy's Birthday on November 1st. She arrived safely into Mommy's arms on November 2, 2006 at 2:45am. She weighed 9 lbs. 9.5 oz. and was 21 1/2 inches long! Our biggest baby yet! Her 3 big sisters just love her to pieces and are a huge help!

We took Rebekah on her first RV Trip with Aunt Cyndi to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and to Lake Powell. Fun for all ~ even a very tired Mommy!!

Reckley's on the Road

Here are just a few pics of the girls at Window Rock and Meteor Crater Museum. This was our second RV trip here in AZ. The RV rocks!! Everyone has fun in the RV and Big Daddy enjoys the driving! We cant wait to show our family and friends all the sites here!

The girls-Sarah and Anna with Cliff had to rock climb to get in the middle of the "window" here at Window Rock. Emma and I stayed down at the bottom since the trail was not marked well at all and I am in no condition to rock-climb. Anna really enjoys rock climbing and hiking. After that short excursion we went to the Window Rock Fair. An extra little surprise for the girls. Emma is a ride junky!! She wanted to ride all the rides there, even the ones she was too short for!

The Meteor Crater museum was awesome! One big hole in the ground that has been preserved so well! The girls enjoyed this Science field trip which is less than 2 hours from our home here in AZ. They learned alot about the stars, planets and of course meteors!

Our New Home in Arizona!!

We finally arrived in Tuba City Arizona August 22nd after a short visit to Maryland to visit family and friends! We all spent the first few nights in the new RV till we were able to get some temporary bedding, etc. established in the townhouse. The girls really enjoyed sleeping and eating in the RV!

Uncle Tom visits Alaska!

Uncle Tom arrived July 18th and spent 10 days fishing and playing with the girls.
In spite of having two teeth pulled, he had a glorious time in Dillingham AK.

Celebrating 15 Years!

Cliff and I stole a weekend away from Dillingham to travel up to Anchorage and Seward to celebrate our 15th Wedding Anniversary! We had lunch with our good friends the Pearson's who were also celebrating their 16th Wedding Anniversary! Then we traveled down to Seward for some sight seeing. We enjoyed a Dinner Glacier Cruise of Kenai Fjords National Park on the 16th. It was Beautiful!
A big Thank You to our friends The Berkoski's for caring for our children so we could get away alone together!

Happy 4th of July!!

Our day was filled with fishing, swimming and hanging out with good friends here in Alaska! This will be our last July in Alaska, we will be on the move August 1st. Our new assignment takes us to Tuba City Arizona. Just an hour north of Flagstaff and close to the Grand Canyon, 4 corners, Lake Powell and much much more!

Emma Rose Turns 3

We celebrated Emma's 3rd Birthday with our closest friends in Aleknagik! All her friends came to play and have a big picnic with her. It was overcast and the mosquitos were out in full force but all had fun!

Emma was showered with lots of gifts including Twin Babies and stroller from Grandma! Emma loves to play "Mommy" with her new Blue baby and Pink Baby!! And Nanny got her a new nightgown and Blue Clues gifts!

Emma enjoyed playing with her closest friends including Holly Pearson! Such good friends we all have here in Dillingham! And whats a Birthday party without cake and ice cream. We made cupcakes for all the kids and let them decorate them however they desired! Emma got to decorate an extra big cupcake!
